Moving on from my baseline video, it's now time for my first clinical assessment that build on my baseline video.
In this assessment, I shall be displaying InTASC standards 1, 2, and 3 which all deal with the interactions of my students, how I handle the individual differences and cultures of my students and how to deliver it to them in a meaningful manner.
The big questions that will be assessed in my lessons are the following:
Does the candidate use knowledge about students’ growth and development to design and implement developmentally appropriate and challenging learning experiences?
Does the candidate use strategies that meet students’cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, and physical needs?
Does the candidate create a positive classroom climate by making students feel valued and show respect for each other?
Does the candidate use knowledge about individualdifferences and diverse cultures to develop inclusive learning environmentsthat support all students in meeting high standards?
Does the candidate create environments that support individualand collaborative learning, positive social interaction, active engagement in learning and self-motivation?
Does the candidate create environments that are student centered rather than teacher centered; do students have the opportunity to makechoices to makechoices or take responsibility for their own learning?
Does the candidate have established norms and proceduresthat lead to engaged students, maximum time on task, and logical managementof classroom space?
