USEFUL LINKS
The purpose of this page is simply to log any useful pages I've come across during my studies. It's primarily for my own benefit, but anyone that comes across this page that finds it useful would be a bonus.
For now I'll just list anything and everything that I've used but at a later date I will attempt to arrange and categorise them in a meaningful manner.

Most things are hyperlinked, so anything in BOLD can be clicked and it will redirect you to the corresponding site.

Please bare with me, it's a work in progress and I'll add some form of order to it when I can.

Useful Tools

Kind of like a collaborative pinboard. Think a collaborative Pinterest of information.

Video conference/chat app. Good for online classes with the ability to screen share, video chat, group and private chat via text along with API integration possibilities for those with more specific after market needs.

A quiz learning game for students and teachers, created and maintained by students. Good for formative and receiving automated reports to monitor progress.

Vocaroo is a quick and easy way to share voice messages over the interwebs. Super simple and no frills, but can be useful in some circumstances for language learners and submitting oral practices over the net.

Voki is a tool that students can use for homework, classwork or projects. They can customise their avatars appearance and what they say, then share with others. When recording their voice, their avatar will repeat the audio recorded and move their lips in accordance to the speech. Quite useful for online oral language homework submission for those who are younger and/or those who might be a bit shy about being on camera etc.

TeacherKit is a classroom management tool that streamlines the processes of attendance, grade recording, record behaviour etc. as well as being able to analyse data, generate reports and share them with ease and add a degree of automation.

As the noise level in a classroom increases beyond an acceptable level the noise level meter dynamically indicates the level of noise, and the background graphics within the app change to reflect the noise levels. Can be a decent tool for the younger years to edge quietness towards being a game and has a few ways it can be configured to suit particular tasks.

A popular cross platform app thats able to connect teachers and students for lessons, parents and teachers for sharing student progress and communication. It can gamify lessons, analyse data, produce reports, allow students to create digital portfolios. Suitable for distance teaching, homework as well as in class lessons. A lot to look at and understand so it’s worth having a look.

Best Sand Timer

It’s a countdown timer app. It’s a one trick pony but it does it well, looks pretty and it a little bit customisable…. Aesthetically at least. Search it on the app store.

Instant Classroom

Can create classes of up to 100 in each on the app and use it to create a seating chart, make classroom groups or use it as a random name generator. Search it on the app store.

Smart Seat

Can organise your classes seating plan via phone app and use it as a random student selector. Search it on app store.

Use for online classes or in the physical classroom. Use interactive video, virtual tours, gamification of activities and collaborative aspects to facilitate learning. Good for quick formative assessments and gathering and analysing data with automated report generation. Has a large library of pre-existing classes to choose from. You can make your own or convert previously made lessons from PowerPoint, PDFs, Google Slides and more into a NearPod lesson.

Free website builder. Makes it super easy. If you want certain features or a nice domain name you’ll need to pay a little though.

Kahoot! is a cross-platform game-based learning tool that is good for formative assessments. Quizzes& opinion polls are its strengths but incredibly useful and engaging if implemented correctly. Gathers and analyses data and generates automated reports. Also can keep a score board for those competitive classes.

Allows teachers to create interactive videos. Students watch and answer multiple choice questions the teachers embedded at particular time markers, or open ended questions to ensure they have watched and comprehended the content. Can deliver reports on progress too. Good for distance learning and flipped classroom scenarios.

Uses QR code like printed cards, teachers can rapidly collect answers from the whole class by quickly scanning across the class with their phone. Particularly good for larger classes, and the QR(esque) code is unique to that student. Good for quizzes/competitions and the ability to show who answered what, or the results can be toggled on and off. I personally like this as its a good mid-ground for a class that only has the class-computer.
